Watch movies and TV shows at home with Roku and Netflix

If you have high speed Internet with WiFi at home, you can check out the Liverpool Roku LT and hook it up to your home TV to watch your choice of movies and TV shows from Netflix. The Liverpool Public Library provides the Netflix subscription - you provide the TV, WiFi, and popcorn. 

To get the Roku LT, place a hold using the Polaris catalog. This kit can be checked out for 7 days, and must be picked up from and returned to Liverpool.

How do I set it up?

  1. Plug the AC Power cable into the Roku box and a wall socket; there is no on/off switch on the Roku box. It stays powered on.

  2. If you have an HD TV with at least one HDMI port,HDMIport plug the HDMI cable into the Roku box and your TV. 
    Do whatever is necessary to have your TV use the HDMI port as the input "Source".

    If your TV does not have an HDMI port, you will have to use the composite A/V cable. Insert the yellow/white/red composite video and analog audio connections from one end of the cable into the corresponding A/V-in ports on your TV. Insert the connectors on the other end of the cable into the corresponding ports on the back of your Roku player.

  3. Use the Roku Remote to connect to your home WiFi Internet connection.
    Watching the TV screen, go to the Settings menu and select Network.
    Follow the prompts to connect to your home WiFi. You may have to enter a password if your home WiFi requires it.

  4. Use the Roku Remote to select a channel and watch.
    You will find about 20 channels including Netflix available for your viewing pleasure.

Some of the channels I want to watch require me to purchase or rent content; can I do that?

No. The library is providing the Netflix subscription; the other channels that we have included on the Roku LT all have some free content. Please enjoy the free content and do not attempt to purchase any of the offered pay-per-view content.

Do not attempt to add or remove any channels.

Other than your home WiFi network name and password, do not enter any of your personal account information into any of the channels. This data will not be cleared when you return the device.
