Hear ye! Hear ye! All are invited to step back into the Middle Ages and the Renaissance with the Barony of Delftwood. Roam the stations and learn about daily life in medieval Europe. Topics will include the Arts and Sciences and defense, and more!
Delftwood is a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (or SCA); an international non-profit educational organization, dedicated to the preservation, research and recreation of the crafts, arts, and experiences of the Middle Ages and RenaissanceThe Barony of Delftwood is a part of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international Medieval recreation society dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Members of the SCA gather to hold Feasts, Tournaments, Courts and other events from the Middle Ages. The Barony of Delftwood is located in Syracuse, NY. Within the SCA, Delftwood is a part of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc (Western NY, Western PA, WV), and proud home of the First Queen and King of the new Kingdom, Caryl and Yngvar.
Members of the Barony of Delftwood will provide an interactive program where visitors can wander at leisure among different stations and learn about a variety of Medieval European topics including: Heavy weapons, fencing,archery, thrown weapons, music & dancing, games,musical instruments, heraldic face painting, scribal arts, stained glass and fiber arts.
