Open Seat on Library Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees for the Liverpool Public Library is taking applications to fill an open board seat left vacant by a retirement.
The appointee will serve until May 2017, when he or she would need to run to retain a seat on the board. Applicants must live in the Liverpool Central School District.
The Board meets monthly on the first Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Carman Community Room. For more information on the bylaws of the Board of Trustees, click here.

Are you feeling creatively 'Wild' this September?
Cheryl Strayed, the author of the No. 1 New York Times bestseller of which that popular film starring Reese Witherspoon was based, is speaking at OCC on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 6:30pm.
Strayed received her MFA in fiction writing at SU. So here's what you have to do to win two free tickets: write a one paragraph wild fictional story about meeting Cheryl Strayed during her time in CNY. The deadline and judging is Monday, Sept. 26. You can post your tale on our Facebook page article or print it out and drop it off at the LPL service desk, make sure to mark it with Cheryl Strayed Contest, your name and a contact number. Please keep it family friendly!
Pokémon Go Safari Returns!

Onondaga Lake Park, Liverpool near the Griffin Visitor Center and Wegmans Playground
Libary staff will set off lures used in the popular mobile game, and pilot the park's pair of McKie Sports seven-person conference bikes for hatching and catching.
Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with as many laps pedaled as possible. Others can hunt Pokémon together around the buildings near the park's main entrance. For newbies, staff with knowledge of the game will be glad to explain rules to anyone who want to get with the program.

Snoopy is the national spokesperson for National Library Card Sign Up Month this year. Anyone that signs up for a new library card in September gets entered to win a family fun basket.
